Chris Russell-Vick

I am a highly motivated and knowledgeable personal trainer with over 30 years of experience in designing, monitoring and adapting exercise programmes based on individual needs, goals, abilities, age and anatomy. My approach is hands on. You will not see me standing by watching you train! I will train with you to energise and motivate you. You will see from my client testimonials that it is extremely enjoyable, rewarding and it works!

Classes

I teach classes at East Sussex National Health Club and Spa and in the local community.

  • Circuit Training

    Do you want to take your fitness to a whole new level? Then circuit training is the class for you! Circuit Training is vigorous, sweat-drenched and intense from start to finish, but it's loads of fun and like all my classes it caters for all levels of ability.

  • Fit for Life

    A class focusing on developing your fitness and well-being for everyday life. Developing stamina, flexibility, core strength and all-over body strength. For those that do not want to work at a high impact level and who want exercises personalised to their fitness needs then this is the class for you!

  • Core Strength and Flexibility

    Individual or small group sessions aimed at increasing your range of motion, relaxation and release tension through focusing on posture, alignment and breathing. These sessions prove to be very effective in supporting the day to day management of joint or back pain.

I am a qualified Physical Education Teacher and Fitness Instructor. I have always been interested and motivated in keeping myself fit and in supporting others to reach their fitness potential and feeling of well-being.

    I was diagnosed with MS over 20 years ago and although currently working full time, have gradually lost mobility, flexibility and stability. Chris spotted me a year ago having difficulty putting on socks after an aqua fit lesson and very discretely asked my partner, who was sitting outside the changing rooms, if I would be interested in attending one-to-one sessions. I said yes and that decision has proved to be a life changer. Her classes are gradually (it is going to be an uphill struggle as my condition does not allow for overnight miracle cures) improving my entire life. My walking is better and physiologically she understands that sometimes, although I would like it to be different, exhaustion takes over and my body simply will not do what I want it to do. Her classes are very varied and tailored to my individual needs. She never presses me to do things that I am uncomfortable with just gives me sensible alternatives to achieve the same end.
